Tennoji Zoo 天王寺動物園
Zo-Osaka <br>
Reproduction of the natural habitat, respect for the environment and animals, are the commandments of Tennoji Zoo, established in Osaka almost a century ago.
Opened in 1915 and installed in Tennoji Park, the zoo is home to over a thousand animals. Elephants reptiles, polar bears koalas, visitors can discover three hundred, quite classic, species. Walking in the middle school groups, families who come for a short visit leave with good memories. One inhabitant attracts a lot of attention ... the only kiwi in the Japanese archipelago has its home here in a darkened enclosure to preserve its natural environment.
Closing times of the different enclosures vary, usually at 4:30 p.m., sometimes at 6 p.m. A lovely break for children who are getting tired of temples and museums!
