The Izu Craile resort train was launched in July 2016 and operates between Odawara, along the Tokaido line on the way from Tokyo to Nagoya, and Izukyu Shimoda, Izu peninsula, mainly on friday, saturday and sunday. Like the Kurofune train, it offers beautiful natural scenery along the Izu coast.
In the first car, seats are facing the sea : the train sometimes slows down and make short stops for viewpoints between stations. In car number 2, there is a bar counter and a lounge.
While looking at the sea, passengers can enjoy foods and drinks specially created with ingredients from Izu and prepared by Sakura Akimoto, owner chef of the popular french restaurant Morceau in Tokyo.
The pink color of the resort train is redesigned to incorporate a softer feminine touche of the 651 series limited cars.
The Izu Craile is covered by the Japan Rail Pass, the JR East Pass Tohoku area, the JR East Pass Nagano/Niigata area, the JR Tokyo Wide Pass, the JR East South Hokkaido Rail Pass.
