Staying connected when you travel Japan

No trip overseas these days is complete without guaranteed access to the web. Does a SIM card work for your travel? Add one to your cart when you purchase your JR Pass!

Is a SIM card best for you?

If you are traveling with just a smartphone and/or tablet for a long period of time, a SIM card is a simple way to keep your device connected.

Our SIM cards are available for 816 or 31 days, so if you are traveling for a longer period of time and want to stay connected but also keep your luggage light, a SIM card is perfect.

The card requires a one-time setup in Japan to activate, as well as a wifi connection during the initial setup. Airports and hotels will usually provide hotspots, but it’s best to check and have a plan. If you have trouble connecting, the instructions provided with your SIM card comes with a technical assistance hotline.
