Kitaoji Bus Terminal
Kitaoji Bus Terminal and the connected Kitaoji subway station are a major transport hub in northern Kyoto. Vivre Mall and Kyoto North Hall are part of the station complex.

Kitaoji Bus Terminal in northern Kyoto is the city's most important bus station after Kyoto Station.
Kitaoji is also a subway station on the north south Karasuma Line making it an important travel hub for getting around town.
You will also find a number of taxis waiting outside the station which also is a major shopping and entertainment center called Kitaoji Town. This includes the Vivre shopping mall and Kyoto North Hall (京都市北文化会舘).

Buses from Kitaoji
Kitaoji Bus Terminal has two separate underground bus stops: Red Stop (赤のりば) and Blue Stop (青のりば).

Platform A
Bus 北3 from A platform goes north to Kyoto Sangyo University and Kamigamo Shrine.
Platform B
Bus 204 runs in an east-west loop to Takano, Ginkaku-ji, Marutamachi and Kinkakuji and also in a reverse west-east loop on the same route.
Bus 206 runs south to Hyakumanben, Kumano Jinja, Chion-in, Gion, Kiyomizu-dera and Kyoto Station along Higashiyama.
Platform C
Bus 1 goes to Rakuhoku High School, Shimogamo Shrine and Demachiyanagi Station.
Bus 37 runs to Shijo Kawaramachi on Kawaramachi Dori and Sanjo Keihan Station on Kawabata.
Bus 205 runs in a loop from Kitaoji Bus Terminal to Rakuhoku High School, Shimogamo Shrine, Shijo Kawaramachi, Kyoto Station and Kujo bus depot (Kujo-shako-mae).
Platform D
Bus 北8 runs east to Takano and Shugakuin-michi and then in a loop westwards along Kitayama Dori to Imamiya Jinja and back to Kitaoji.

Platform E
Bus 1 runs west to Daitoku-ji and Bukkyo University.
Bus 北1 for Bukkyo University, Takagamine and Joshoji, Genkoan and Koetsuji temples.
Bus 37 for Nishigamo Depot via Horikawa Dori to the north and Kawaramachi Imadegawa and Sanjo Keihan to the south.
Bus 特37 for Omiya Kotsu-koen, Nishigamo Bus Depot and Shodabashi.
Platform F
Raku buses Raku 101 and Raku 102.
The Raku 101 bus goes to the central and western parts of the city with bus stops at Nijo Castle, Nishijin Textile Center at Horikawa Imadegawa, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kinkaku-ji Temple and Daitoku-ji Temple. The bus terminates at Kitaoji Bus Terminal and then returns to Kyoto Station. At Kitano Hakubaicho, the Raku 101 connects to the Keifuku Railway for Arashiyama.
The Raku 102 from Ginkakuji Temple runs a loop via Kinkaku-ji Temple, Daitoku-ji Temple and Kitaoji Bus Terminal from east to west and back again. From Ginkakuji-michi bus stop the Raku 102 stops at Kyoto Imperial Palace on Imadegawa Street, Nishijin Textile Center, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kinkaku-ji Temple and Daitoku-ji Temple before returning to Ginkaku-ji. At Kitano Hakubaicho, the Raku 102 connects with the Keifuku Railway for Arashiyama and at Demachiyanagi Station, the bus connects to the Eizan Railway for Kurama.
Bus 205 for Daitoku-ji, Kinkaku-ji and Nishioji Shijo via Nishioji Dori.
Bus M1 for Haradani and Ritsumeikan University.
Bus 北8 for Bukkyo University and Matsugasaki.

Bus 204 for Daitoku-ji, Kinkaku-ji and Nishinokyo Emmachi via Nishioji Dori.
Bus 206 for Shijo-Omiya and Kyoto Station via Sembon Dori.

Kitaoji Town
Kitaoji Town consists of the Vivre shopping mall and the Kyoto North Hall cultural venue.
Vivre has branches of Uniqlo, Muji, Jins, L.L. Bean, a 100-yen store and Edion electronics store along with a variety of ladies and gents fashion outlets.
There are also various cafes and restaurants in Vivre (Mr. Donuts, Humpty Dumpty, Komeda Coffee) as well as a Starbucks at Exit 2.
Vivre Mall, Kitaoji
Kyoto North Hall is a concert hall and venue staging mainly small and local musical and dramatic events.
Just south of Kitaoji Bus Terminal is the free Otani University Museum (大谷大学博物館) with a variety of Buddhist art on display. The museum is open from Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm.
