Tokyo Toei buses (run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation) cover the main areas of Tokyo within the Yamanote Loop inner city area including Akihabara, Asakusa, Ginza, Ochanomizu and Kanda, Marunouchi, Nippori, Odaiba, Roppongi, Shinjuku,
Shibuya, Shinagawa, Sugamo, Tokyo Station and Tokyo Skytree.
Toei runs over 1400 buses, many of them Non-Step for elderly passengers, and connect with Tokyo Toei and Tokyo metro subway stations.
In Tokyo, enter the bus through the front door and pay the flat fare at the beginning of your journey. This is the opposite of most bus services in Japan, where passengers enter through the rear door and pay on exit to the driver or swipe their smart cards.
Tokyo Bus Fares
The basic bus fare on Tokyo's buses is presently - if paying with cash - 210 yen for a single journey, 110 yen for a child at elementary school and free for an infant under 1. Junior High School and High School students pay the adult fare.
PASMO and SUICA smart cards are valid on Tokyo buses and are cheaper: 206 yen for an adult fare, 103 yen for a child's fare.
Tokyo buses run from around 6am-10pm.

Tokyo Bus Passes
The Toei Bus One Day Economy Pass costs 500 yen; the Toei Bus One-Day IC Card Pass is also 500 yen and can be added to a PASMO card. The cost is deducted from the balance of your PASMO Card.
The Tokyo Free Ticket (東京フリーきっぷ) allows unlimited one-day use of Toei buses, Toei subways, the Toei Streetcar Arakawa Line (Toden), and the Nippori-Toneri Liner, as well as Tokyo Metro and JR East trains including the Yamanote Line within Tokyo's 23 wards. The Tokyo One-Day Free Ticket (Tokyo Combination Ticket) costs 1,590 yen.
Tokyo Toei buses have a green, yellow and white color livery. There are presently 138 routes and over 1,600 stops in Tokyo. In addition, Toei also operates a number of specific sightseeing buses in the capital such as the Tokyo Shitamachi Bus visiting Akihabara, Ueno and Asakusa from Tokyo Station.

The S-1 bus runs from the Marunouchi Exit of Tokyo Station to Kinshicho Station via Kanda Station, Asakusa and the Tokyo Skytree.
The 都01 bus runs from Shibuya Station to Shimbashi Station.
The 海01 bus runs from Monzen Nakacho to Tokyo Terepoto Eki in Odaiba.
The 都02 bus runs from Otsuka Station to Kinshicho Station via Okachimachi.
The 都04 bus runs from Otakibashi-Shako to Shimbashi via Okubo and Kasumigasaki.
The 都05 bus runs from the Marunouchi Minami Exit of Tokyo Station to Tokyo Big Sight via the Tokyo International Forum, Ginza Yon-chome, Tsukiji and Shin-Toyosu-Eki.
The 都06 bus runs from Shibuya Station to Shimbashi via Azubu-juban.
The 都07 bus runs from Monzen-nakacho to Kinshicho Station.

The 門33 bus runs from Kameido Station to Toyomi-Suisan-Futo via Ryogoku.

The 草63 bus runs from Ikebukuro Station East Exit to Asakusa and Kaminarimon 1-chome.
