One hour from Tokyo, treat yourself to a day -or more- of pure relaxation. Multiple baths, sauna, beauty treatments, hammocks, unlimited coffee... Rest and voluptuousness at a very low price, that's what Ofuro Café Utatane offers in the prefecture of Saitama.
Ofuro Café Utatane is a new kind of establishment - moreover its clientele is mainly young - which has combined everything that is dear to the Japanese but which has also become so to foreigners passing through: hot spring baths, massage chairs, coffee or tea breaks, reading areas and even computers!
A welcome at the top
Upon arrival, the tone is set: you are given a small bag containing two towels and pajamas. We come here to soak and rest! You will also be entitled to a bracelet which will serve as a sesame and as a wallet (used to record payments to be made on leaving).
Japan obliges: the baths
As in all onsen establishments, there is something for everyone : indoors and outdoors, hot and cold, whirlpool, or even low-electricity. Some are fed with spring water from the Hakuju hot spring resort in Kamikawa in Saitama Prefecture. We bathe there naked after being conscientiously washed and of course, they are not mixed. There are also saunas .
Please note : only small tattoos are accepted (which you must cover with a 12.8 x 18.2 cm sticker sold for 200 yen at the entrance).

Relax !
Relaxation is the key word of the place and different spaces invite it. You can take a nap in the common room, lying in a duvet on tatami mats or for more privacy, cradled in a hammock or stretched out on a sofa-chair while chairs massagers will take care of your sore muscles. Why not sit in front of the roaring fire ? Japanese board games are available free of charge for a "just like home" atmosphere.

Manga fan? Go to the library where manga (in Japanese) but also magazines and tourist guides abound. You will also find some at the entrance and on the shelves in the corridors.
For small hollows and big thirsts
You can eat throughout the day , from breakfast to dinner, including lunch and afternoon tea. Simple but balanced dishes are offered as well as desserts and alcoholic beverages.
In addition, you can help yourself to different kinds of coffee free of charge and at will thanks to the two coffee machines located near the lounge.

Eh yes ! You have to live with the times! Relaxation is not always synonymous with isolation and the establishment has three computers with free access.
And more if we hit it off...
In addition to being a thermal establishment, a café and a relaxation area, Ofuro Café Utatane is also a hotel . If you feel too good there, you can opt for a bed in the dormitory or a single room (the baths are shared).
