The Museum is housed on several floors of the modern Toyama Kirari (キラリ) Building, which opened in 2015. The building itself is worth coming for, designed by architect Kuma Kengo, the architect responsible for a number of striking construction projects both in Japan and overseas including the Suntory Museum of Art in Tokyo, the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum, Commune by the Great Wall of China and the new National Stadium which hosts the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
The Toyama Kirari Building also includes within its innovative interior of wood and glass the Toyama city library, a glass art shop and a restaurant/cafe. Other works are displayed on "Glass Art Passages" throughout the building.

Exhibits
The Toyama Glass Art Museum covers six floors with the permanent exhibition on the 4th floor and the Glass Art Garden, containing works by Dale Chihuly, an American glass artist with an affinity with Japan and its culture, located on the 6th floor. There are also special exhibition galleries on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
