Mitsui Memorial Museum Tokyo
The Mitsui Memorial Museum opened in 2005 in the historic Mitsui Main Building not far from Tokyo Station.
The Mitsui Memorial Museum is dedicated to Japanese and Asian art and the core of the collection was formerly the
Mitsui Bunko Museum of Art, which consisted of over 4,000 of the family treasures of the Muromachi Mitsui family collected by the various branches of the Mitsui family over three centuries.
Exhibits include priceless tea ceremony and incense utensils, furnishings, textiles, paintings by the celebrated Edo Period artist Maruyama Okyo, swords, Noh drama costumes and masks, over 130,000 postage stamps and various pieces of calligraphy by such brush masters as Fujiwara no Teika.
The museum is housed in the Mitsui Main Building, built in 1929, though entrance is through the lobby of the modern Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower next door.
One of the rooms that houses the exhibits is the beautiful wood-paneled old boardroom of the Mitsui Group.

Within the museum is a reconstruction of the Joan tea ceremony room, which now stands in Inuyama in Aichi Prefecture.
The Mitsui Memorial Museum's space also includes a cafe, lecture room and museum shop.

A short walk from Kanda Station, Tokyo Station, Mitsukoshimae on the Ginza and Hanzomon Lines of the Tokyo Metro or Nihonbashi Station on the Ginza and Tozai Lines.
