The Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum 野球体育博物館
Tokyo's Baseball Museum in Bunkyo ward is housed in Tokyo Dome - the home stadium of Japan's pre-eminent ball club the Yomiuri Giants.
The Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum was first established in 1959 adjacent to the then Korakuen Stadium and moved to its present location when Tokyo Dome opened in 1988 replacing the older ballpark.
The museum is dedicated to Japanese baseball past and present and includes information and memorabilia on all Japan's baseball teams in both the Central and Pacific Leagues, Japan's winning teams at the World Baseball Classic in 2006 and 2009 and displays on the long history of the game in Japan at amateur, collegiate and professional levels.
Exhibits include displays detailing the manufacture of baseball equipment over the years: bats, balls and gloves, signed baseball caps and shirts, and video reruns of past Japan Series.
Highlights of the museum are the fun virtual batting game with pro pitchers including ace Yu Darvish and the impressive Hall of Fame enshrining such greats of the Japanese game as Sadaharu Oh.
