Battle Godzilla in virtual reality! 「ゴジラVR」
Giant lizard alert in "Godzilla VR"
Climb aboard a helicopter and prevent Godzilla from destroying the city. A new virtual reality attraction has been announced in the "VR Zone" of Tokyo and Osaka. Tickets are available for sale in Japan from Thursday, August 23rd!
Virtual reality can transport us to a whole new world, giving us the chance to have unbelievable adventures. In this new VR attraction, climb aboard a helicopter to beat Godzilla before he turns the city to ashes.
Godzilla popularized the genre of kaiju eiga (monster movies) more than 60 years ago, and today movies dedicated to him still continue to come out in the cinema. The iconic reptile isn't done yet!

The attraction is located in the "VR Zones" of Tokyo and Osaka, called simply "Godzilla VR". Players will sit in a chair that simulates the jolts of helicopter flight. With a virtual reality helmet on, participants will have to shoot the creature with a specially designed weapon (since fans will know Godzilla isn't vulnerable to conventional bullets).
It's as yet unknown if the outcome of the experience is set or if the participants really can interact and have a deciding role to play in the battle. In any case, you can participate alongside 3 other people (minimum age 7 years) who will be your teammates.
The "VR Zone" already exists in Tokyo, in Kabukicho district, but the opening of the Godzilla attraction to the public is planned for November 2018. In Osaka, the Namco Bandai "VR Zone" grand opening is planned for September 13th, 2018, and Godzilla is the main headliner hoped to attract the curious. It will be based in HEP Five, the famous giant shopping mall complete with big wheel, near Umeda.
Enjoy a visit to one of these two huge cities and go head-to-head with the world's most famous Japanese monster!
