A traditional textile shop on Shinmonzen-dori in the heart of the Gion district, Konjaku Nishimura, offers a spectacular collection of antique clothing such as a kimono and obi as well as other colorful vintage items.

    Nawate-dori area of the Gion district, south of the Sanjo Keihan train station and Sanjo Keihan Mae bus stops (lines 5, 10, 11, 12 and 59). You have to cross the Sanjo Bridge east and then walk south to find yourself in the antique district; otherwise, north of the Shijo Keihan Mae bus stops (lines 10, 11, 12, 46, 59, 201, 203 and 207).
  • Price

    20,000 to 30,000 yen ($175/150€) for a good-made kimono. The masterpieces of the collection can reach 200,000 to 400,000 yen ($1,750/1,500€).
