The Museum of Fine Arts is located close to Nishi-Gifu Station in Gifu city and can be visited in conjunction with the nearby Gifu City Science Museum.

The Museum of Fine Arts was established in 1982 and exhibits work by artists from Gifu Prefecture and overseas. The museum also hosts frequent temporary exhibitions and shows by local amateur artists.

The core collection is mainly contemporary painting, sculpture and crafts with works by both Japanese and foreign artists:
The work of Japanese artists includes pieces by Shusaku Arakawa, Toraji Ishikawa, Susumu Koshimizu, Mio Kozo, Kishio Murata, Kaoru Yamaguchi, Hikaru Yamada and works by the historic Kano school of painters.
The foreign artists whose work can be seen include Marc Chagall, Eugene Delacroix, Jasper Johns, Joan Miro, Paul Gauguin, Edvard Munch, Georges Rouault and Camille Pissarro.
Recent temporary exhibitions include nihonga from the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art and works by Leonard Foujita.
The museum has a museum shop, an organ used for organ recitals and a cafe, Ruru, with outdoor seating on a terrace.

Hours: 9 am-6 pm; open until 8 pm on third Friday of the month; closed Monday or the next day if Monday is a national holiday. Closed December 25-January 2, June 12 to 19, July 3 to 7.
Admission to The Museum of Fine Arts, Gifu general collection is 330 yen but the temporary exhibitions are charged extra.
The Museum of Fine Arts is located a 15 minute walk from Nishi Gifu Station, one stop west of JR Gifu Station.
There are infrequent community buses that run past the museum from Nishi Gifu Station or more frequent Gifu City buses to and from JR Gifu Station (bus stop 6) and Meitetsu Gifu Station. From JR Gifu Station and Meitetsu Gifu Station get of at the Ken-bijutsukan-mae stop (210 yen; 15 minutes).
Other places of interest in Gifu include Gifu Castle, the Nawa Insect Museum, the Gifu Daibutsu in Shohoji Temple and the Eizo and Toichi Kato Memorial Art Museum all in and around Gifu Koen, about 15 minutes by bus north of Gifu Station.
