Yakatabune Diner

Floating Japanese restaurant...? ... Yes, that's the Yakatabune, a classic low-barge-style boat, decorated with lanterns, from which you can enjoy a cruise through Tokyo bay, along with an elegant dinner.

Yakatabune, entertainment barge since the Heian era

The origins of Yakatabune are believed to date back to when they were popular among the aristocracy during the 8th to 9th centuries. They now make for one of the best entertainments you can do at night in Tokyo city. Passengers of the Yakatabune sit on a lowered tatami floor with tables, and enjoy several courses of traditional Japanese food while enjoying the night views in Tokyo bay and under the Rainbow bridge.
