Kyoka-an
Kyoka-an, built during the Taisho period (1912-1926) nearly 100 years ago, is a Kyoto-style machiya house available for rent, located 7 minutes from the intersection of Shijo-Karasuma, in the center of the former imperial capital.
Description of the house
The ground floor consists of a Japanese living / dining room, kitchen, bathroom, restroom, and nice Japanese garden. Upstairs, there are two separate bedrooms, one with two single western beds and one room with two comfortable futons.
The neighborhood
Not only is Kyoka-an centrally located in Kyoto very close to the famous Nishiki market and great restaurants, it's located 10 min from Shijo station, central hub for subway lines in Kyoto. The subway line connect directly to JR Kyoto station in 5 minutes, making it very convenient to also explore
cities neighboring Kyoto such as Osaka, or Nara.
