Hattoji International Villa 八塔寺国際交流ヴィラ
country stay
The Hattoji International Villa, located in the heart of the Japanese countryside, aims to introduce visitors to a lesser-known Japan, far from the hustle and bustle of the big cities of the archipelago.
Nestled in the heart of the Japanese countryside , a few kilometers from the city of Bizen, known in particular for its ceramics , the international villa Hattoji was built to allow tourists visiting Japan to discover a still little known facet of Japan : its countryside. .
A Traditional Style House
The house, with a thatched roof , contains many rooms, all furnished and furnished in the traditional Japanese style . A large room, acting as a living room, even has an iori , a traditional Japanese fireplace , around which the different members of a family meet to chat on winter days or evenings.
The bathroom is also typically Japanese since it is equipped with a goemenburo , a traditional bathtub that looks like a cauldron. But let the less adventurous rest assured, the house also has a modern shower.
Hattoji Villa is also a good way to meet other travelers if you wish because it is possible to book it entirely or share it with other travelers who would like to visit the Japanese countryside.

Diverse And Varied Activities
The location of the villa also allows you to discover many points of interest in the surroundings such as the ceramics of the city of Bizen, the temple of Hiyoshi located right next to the villa, or that of Takuraushi, which contains thousands of sculptures of cows made in an artisanal way and baked in the oven. Villa Hattoji also has an astronomy club which organizes observation sessions every month. There is therefore no lack of activities around this villa, which also calls, of course, for meditation and observation of the surrounding nature .

Choose Your Period Well
The villa is rented all year round even if it is the most pleasant on sunny days . Winter, which is rather harsh in this region , lowers temperatures, both outside and inside the house. Even if there is a fireplace and portable heaters, it is better to be used to the coolness, and not be afraid to live in a sweater (or more) inside for several days.
