Trains to USJ
The JR Group (this time JR West) made headlines yet again when it introduced a special shinkansen, the Harry Potter shinkansen!
If you are visiting the Kansai Region in Western Japan, you may know that Osaka is home to Universal Studios Japan, which opened a Harry Potter attraction in the summer of 2014.
Access to USJ, as it is often called, is completely by JR railways; from Shin-Osaka or Osaka Stations, you can change to the Yumesaki Line, which goes right to the gates of the theme park.
It will be on the Shinkansen Hikari 580 and the Shinkansen Sakura 580 (both of which arrive at Shin-Osaka Station at 10:23 am) with every odd-numbered car decorated with an image of Hedwig, Harry’s owl, flying over Hogwarts.
These select trains will have a connection from Shin-Osaka Station to USJ, departing at 10:33 and arriving at the theme park at 10:46.
This special trains runs every Saturday through the end of June 2015.
