Oedo Antique Flea Market 大江戸骨董市
Bric-a-brac Tokyo
Southeast of the capital, the Oedo Antiques Market, which opened in 2003, is a busy place every first and third Sunday of the month.
On the plaza of the Tokyo International Forum, the laughter of children and haggling between merchants and city dwellers in search of good buys, are going strong, on the Sundays it is open. But it does not fit the label of "neighborhood market". With over two hundred and fifty exhibitors, professionals and amateurs, the Oedo Antiques Market has become the largest open-air flea market in the capital. To go for a stroll or look for the perfect gift or just the pleasure of watching the bargain hunters, there are many good reasons to attend this bimonthly micro-event. Obviously, for the best deals, it is advisable to go to the market in the morning.
