Tokyo National Theatre 新国立劇場
Tokyo makes a show
Tokyo National Theatre hosts kabuki (spectacular scenic entertainment) and bunraku (puppet theater, born in Osaka in the seventeenth century) performances.
The main hall can accommodate more than 1 600 people for important kabuki performances, while in the "little theater" of five hundred and ninety places more modest works of kabuki and above all bunraku are performed. Other performing arts - mainly traditional dances and music - are regularly scheduled.
