The Cellar
Underground Osaka
No, the Japanese do not spend all their evenings sipping sake in a hostess bar in a geek neighborhood listening to J-Pop (Japanese pop). Yes, yes, some also have a taste for sound experiments to be tried along with a good pint of beer.
At The Cellar, each week a different group from the new, local rock scene performs. In a friendly atmosphere, grung has disappeared and just the Cellar is left. This increasingly popular place is not a dive, it offers all the comfort necessary for a good evening. A pint or a cocktail for 500 yen in one hand, and Japanese and Western tapas in the other, all there is left to do is enjoy the rock-aperitif!
