Iojima & Okinoshima
The small islands of Iojima and Okinoshima are connected to the Kyushu mainland by bridge. Iojima is known for its relaxing beaches and spas at its luxury resorts. The main sight is the beautiful Magome Catholic Church on Okinoshima built in 1931. The church is illuminated at night. The best way to reach Iojima is by bus but Nagasaki Kisen also runs high speed ferries from Nagasaki to Iojima that take 20 minutes (670 yen for adults). The boat then sails on to Takashima, just north of Gunkanjima.
