Sisam シサム工房
Life in Green
The "handmade" market stalls at Chion-ji feature Southeast Asian clothing that is perfect for the hot and humid summer of Kyoto.
This handmade market takes place every fifteen of the month at Chion-ji or of the shop very close to this temple, Sisam. Specializing in “ethnic” Asian products and those labeled “fair trade”, its stalls present clothes from Southeast Asia that are perfect for the hot and humid Kyoto summer. The store also offers more useful and everyday items such as lamps, or at least, interior decorative objects, carved from wood from India and Vietnam.
The “made in Japan ” products are presented in the “green” characters. Liquid soaps, shampoos, or ecological detergents, Sisam brushes aside the empty excuses used to justify nature conservation as the products are nature friendly!
