Hear Ye, Hear Ye, collectors and the curious! Daishodo is the must-visit store in Kyoto. Located in theTeramachi shopping arcade, the store welcomes customers with its warm beige tones. Open since 1926, it offers an impressive collection of prints and books dating from the Edo period (1603-1868), as well as karuta (traditional card games), kyo-hanga (matchboxes with famous images) and other original woodcut prints.
To avoid damaging your purchases, the store, which accepts most credit cards, offers overseas dispatch for about 3 000 yen, with parcels arriving the following week.
